Bugatti president was also appointed as the new chairman of Lamborghini

From December 1, 2020, Mr. Stephan Winkelmann will succeed Mr. Stefano Domenicali as the new chairman and chief executive officer of Automobili Lamborghini. Mr. Stefano Domenicali will be the CEO of Formula 1 from 2021. Mr. Stephan Winkelmann will continue to serve as President of Bugatti.

Mr. Stephan Winkelmann served as Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini from 2005 to 2016. During this period, Mr. Winkelmann successfully transformed Lamborghini into the world’s leading manufacturer of super sports cars. Before joining Lamborghini, Mr. Winkelmann held a number of senior positions in the Fiat Group.

Under the leadership of Mr. Winkelmann, Lamborghini launched the Gallardo derivative models, the V10 Huracán series, the V12 Aventador series, as well as a number of limited edition and special custom models, and set new sales records many times. In 2015, Lamborghini announced the launch of its third product line, the super SUV Urus, which will be produced at the Sant’Agata Bolognese plant, marking the beginning of a new era for Lamborghini.

In March 2016, Mr. Winkelmann took the post of CEO of Quattro Co., Ltd. (now Audi Sport Co., Ltd.), and since the beginning of 2018, he has assumed the position of President of Bugatti Automobile Company.
